app is not working screen goes black for a couple of seconds & returns to home.

It is probably not the app causing the issues. Probably a corrupt file issue.

It seems to only work on really small things. I feel like I could guess and get the same. More of a toy.

This is using the principles of Photogrammetry. Which is an excellent tool that I use for crash scene reconstructions.
